Fontana, Calif. (Apr. 29, 2004) – The No. 14 Navy-sponsored Chevy Monte Carlo at the Stater Bros. 300 race held at the California Speedway. The Navy sponsors the Fitz-Bradshaw owned car that runs in the NASCAR Busch Series for recruiting purposes. Atwood finished 29th in a field of 43 starting drivers. I had the privilege of leading a team of Navy Photojournalists from Combat Camera Pacific to cover the Navy-Sponsored NASCAR team back in 2004. Capturing every aspect of the race… from the car inspections, the driver’s qualifying run, the garage maintenance to the car, to the high paced action of the pit-crew and the race itself.
